Dead Letters Privacy Policy

Dead Letters is a game made by Nest Studios LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Dead Letters app and this website.

The short version. The app does not collect, store, sell or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The app has no servers to send anything to.

Your voice. When you tap the microphone, the app uses Apple's built-in speech recognition to turn your spoken question into text. On devices that support it, this happens entirely on your device. On some older devices, Apple may process the audio on its own servers under Apple's Privacy Policy. Either way, your recordings and transcripts never reach us, and the app does not save them. You can type your questions instead and never use the microphone.

What stays on your device. The app remembers which achievements you have unlocked, which cases you have solved, and whether sound is turned on. This is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, and it is deleted when you delete the app.

Permissions. The app may ask for access to your microphone (to hear your questions) and to speech recognition (to turn them into text). Both are optional. You can turn them off at any time in your device's Settings, and the game still works by typing.

This website. This website is hosted by Lovable, which provides basic visitor statistics: it counts page views and measures how quickly pages load, and sets a small first-party cookie to tell one visit from another. The host may also record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not use this information to identify you, and we do not sell or share it.

If you email us. If you write to us at contact@neststudios.app, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. Ask us at any time and we will delete it sooner.

Children. Dead Letters is intended for players aged 13 and over. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information about you. Because the app collects none, there is usually nothing for us to provide. For anything you have emailed us, write to contact@neststudios.app and we will respond within 30 days. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.

Links to other services. If you mention self-harm while playing, the app offers links to crisis helplines (988 in the US and findahelpline.com). Those open outside the app, and the organizations that run them have their own privacy policies.

Changes. If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
